“I am a poet.

I never set out to make music.

my poems just wanted to be louder”

Story

Sable Rosemont is an award-winning Australian poet, songwriter and performer whose work explores coercive control, psychological survival, and the moment a person decides they will no longer be diminished by someone else's story.

In 2026, she won the South Coast Writers Centre Poetry Award for A State of Trespass and was Highly Commended in the Calanthe Poetry Prize for I Married a Bird. Her poetry has also been accepted for publication in literary journals, with new work forthcoming in 2027.

Although poetry has always been her first language, some poems refused to stay on the page. They became songs.

Sable creates dark, cinematic alternative rock that gives voice to those finding their way out of coercive control, emotional abuse, and impossible relationships.

Her work is about surviving, reclaiming power, setting boundaries, and discovering the strength that was there all along.
